You may never want to tear yourself away from the gorgeous views from the balcony, but when the soft sands and turquoise waters call, you will be spoilt for choice for beautiful beaches within walking distance. Your closest is Greenaway, a longer walk for most so remains quieter in summer months. Here, you can enjoy walks, beach picnics, rock pooling and hunting for cowrie shells.

Inside, sprawling social spaces provide plenty of space for the whole family to spread out and make themselves at home. The light and vibrant kitchen has all you could possibly need for enjoying holiday feasts. Settle down and indulge in a lazy breakfast at the oval dining table and enjoy views across the estuary as you dine together. In summer, throw open the glass doors to the sun-soaked terrace and let the fresh sea air flow in.

On cooler days, take advantage of the living room’s cosy fireplace, as you snuggle down to enjoy a movie marathon or a good book with a steaming cup of cocoa. Children and teenagers will delight in tiptoeing upstairs to the cosy TV room, the perfect refuge for relaxing evenings in.

With five sumptuous bedrooms to choose from, there will be sweet dreams all round. Relax and unwind in the master bedroom located on the first floor, commanding soul-soothing estuary views. Open up the door to the sun terrace and as night falls, you can enjoy an uninterrupted night's sleep as the distant sound of waves lap against the shore.

Downstairs, bedrooms three and four have a zip and link bed, offering flexible sleeping arrangements for your party. Bringing your au pair along? Lovely comfortable week enjoyed with the family and dogs at Brae Heights. We liked the sociable space of the kitchen, dining area and lounge. The kitchen was well equipped - there was nothing we needed that we couldnt find and we enjoyed some delicious meals in. Great to have the utility room for the dogs, especially after beach walks.
