Lynam is a rare period property nestled above Porthilly Cove with beautiful original features and generous grounds.

Lynam, a self-catering holiday home in Rock, North Cornwall

Description

This charming, 18th-century house is situated in an enviable position just above Porthilly Cove. A public footpath on your doorstep leads down to the beach, while its windows look out to scenic countryside and estuary views.

Lynam is rich in history and character. The property was used to provide refuge to Thai royals during the second world war, and retains many of its original features. It's a hidden treasure in Rock, where there are very few period properties.

You'll find the kitchen well equipped for preparing home cooked meals for friends and family. The spacious lounge has an open fireplace, sash windows and vast sofas, while the dining room makes a grand location for dining. Throughout the social spaces, you'll discover antique furniture and lovely artwork.

Lynam has three bright and airy bedrooms. The spacious master bedroom has a dual aspect outlook across the water. Looking out to the boats riding at anchor, it's easy to forget that the hustle and bustle of Rock is just behind you. In contrast, from the comfortable and cosy twin rooms you can take in the surrounding countryside.

The house benefits from generously proportioned grounds, including a south-facing patio, enclosed gardens and a croquet lawn just beyond its walled curtilage.

Lynam can be let along with its sister property Little Lynam to sleep a total of 12 people. The two properties are connected by a lockable, interconnecting door. If both properties are occupied at the same time it is possible that some noise can be heard from the next door property.
