Penquite Cottage occupies a beautiful location off the beaten track. Stay just a short scenic car ride away from the popular seaside villages of Rock, Polzeath and Port Isaac.
At Penquite Cottage you can relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Cornish countryside. Here you're within easy reach of the best that North Cornwall has to offer.
Hop in the car and in 10-15 minutes you'll arrive in the estuary village of Rock, with its golden beach linking to Daymer Bay at low tide. If you enjoy being on the water, head to the Rock Sailing and Water Ski Club, where you can enjoy a sailing or water skiing lesson. If you'd like to explore the other side of the Camel Estuary, catch the ferry across to Padstow from here.
Polzeath is a popular surfing beach and just a ten-minute drive from Penquite Cottage. There is a range of excellent local surf schools based on the beach, from which you can hire kit or take a lesson. Alternatively, you can play in the shallows or try body boarding. The beach is protected by lifeguard cover during the summer months, meaning the whole family can safely enjoy the water.
The charming seaside fishing village of Port Isaac is just moments away. Here you can stroll round the narrow streets past pretty rows of cottages and watch the boats bob in the harbour. An array of characterful pubs and restaurants serve the best local seafood, with the Golden Lion and Nathan Outlaw's Fish Kitchen both highly recommended.
