Orchard House enjoys one of the best locations in Rock, with a frontline, waterside position offering stunning panoramic views of the Camel Estuary.

At Orchard House, you are only moments away from the soft, golden sand of Rock Beach and the ferry taking you across to Padstow.

Whether you are staying in Rock to enjoy the local beaches, explore the coastal paths, take to the water, watch the sailing events or sample the best local cuisine, you have everything within easy reach at Orchard House.

From the balcony you can see the pontoon, should you fancy taking a boat trip to explore the coastline and spot wildlife or a sailing lesson with the nearby sailing school. If you like hiking and exploring the rugged North Cornwall coast, you are only moments from joining the South West Coast Path, which hugs the coastline from Rock to Daymer Bay, Polzeath and beyond.

For family beach days, Rock Beach is right on your doorstep with its golden sands, extensive dunes and calm waters. To escape the crowds, head to the neighbouring Porthilly Cove and visit the picture-perfect church and the local art gallery.

When evening comes, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out, with many restaurants within walking distance of Orchard House. For dining with a view head to The Rock Inn or The Mariners, where you can enjoy a delicious local meal on the balcony overlooking the estuary. For fine dining or a special occasion head up the hill to The Dining Room.

If you want to explore further afield, catch the ferry across the estuary to Padstow where you can explore the harbour and sample Rick Stein’s famous fish and chips. From here you can hire bikes and cycle to the beautiful estuary town of Wadebridge.

Walk to the beach

At low tide, you only need to cross the road to reach the beach. From here, you can walk left to the secluded Porthilly Cove or right to the long stretch of sand at Rock Beach that leads onto Daymer Bay. If the tide is up, it’s a two-minute walk to the bottom of Rock Road and onto Rock Beach.
