The Long House

50° 33' 52.140"N -4° 47' 24.667"W

Nestled within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is The Long House. This beautiful Grade II-listed farmhouse has a host of original features and a picture-perfect country garden.

Description

The Long House sits high above the Cornish village of St Kew, just a short drive from Rock and Polzeath. From here you can enjoy far-reaching rural views out across the nature reserve. St Kew is positioned away from the hustle and bustle of the North Cornish coast and has an olde-worlde charm and relaxed atmosphere.

The Long House is rich in interesting history and stands as one of the oldest holiday cottages near Rock, being mentioned in the Domesday Book. Reflecting this are the beautiful wooden floors and exposed beams that can be found throughout.

The spacious kitchen has beautiful slate floors, dark marble worktops and soft duck egg blue units. A wooden farmhouse table provides the ideal spot to enjoy a sociable meal with the family. A simply stunning cream aga takes centre stage and is set back into the wall and surrounded by original stonework.

A light and airy lounge has slate floors, wooden beams and a fireplace with log burner; perfect for curling up and enjoying a cosy evening in while logs crackle on the fire. French doors open out from the lounge to the garden, allowing plenty of natural daylight to flow through.

The Long House's three bedrooms sit under high vaulted ceilings and wooden beams. Each is beautifully decorated with plush soft furnishings and antique furniture. The large family bathroom has a delightful freestanding bathtub, ideal for a long soak after a day of walking and water sports.

Outside you'll find the epitome of an English country garden. Here you can discover the peaceful summer room, the perfect place to open up the doors, relax and enjoy the tranquility of the surrounding garden. Children will love the assortment of games, puzzles and art supplies, all found in the summer room.

With two patios and an area for barbecues, you won't be short of space to enjoy a quiet coffee and a newspaper, or summer dining with a view.
