Treglyn Farmhouse, a self-catering holiday home near Rock and Wadebridge, North Cornwall

Description

Treglyn Farmhouse can be found down a flower-lined country lane, where vibrant cow parsley meets soft pink campion. This Grade-II listed farmhouse (formerly the original farmhouse at Treglyn Farm which dates back to 1844), has been lovingly restored. Bursting with original features and swoonsome modern interiors, this country retreat is sure to delight every member of the family.

With spacious interiors and cosy nooks, there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy pure rest and relaxation. The brand new farmhouse kitchen has everything you need to prepare picnics to lavish family feasts. The sumptuous dining room provides the most beautiful backdrop for a dining experience (if you don't feel like cooking why not enlist a private chef?).

The soft pink hues and squishy sofas belonging to the lounge combine to create the most relaxing of atmospheres. Younger members of the family will love the snug - the ideal spot for movie nights and holiday board games. Spend winter days cosy beside the roaring log fire or swathed in blankets as you toast marshmallows around the firepit. Sink into the jets of the jacuzzi bath (in the family bathroom) to reinvigorate muscles after a day stomping the South West Coastal Path.

In summer, unwind amongst the flowers on the soft lawn with your favourite novel. Enjoy al fresco dining at its best. Fire up the barbecue and throw on some fresh lobster (which can be picked up via a stroll up the lane to the Camel Crab Shack). An original red phone box takes centre stage in the garden and will certainly be worthy of an Instagram shot or two.

As night falls, retreat to the bubbling hot tub with your favourite local tipple and share tales of the day gone by. A day's dose of fresh sea air draws sleepy souls up the softly carpeted stairs to a pick of five blissful bedrooms. Tumble into the crisp white linens and sumptuous velvet throws of the master bedroom, where a walk-in wardrobe and shower room are hidden behind the moss-coloured wood cladding. Wake to the sound of bird song and views across the misty patchwork valley from the sash windows.
