Wheel Cottage sits within a small row of picture-perfect cottages towards the bottom of the Rock Road. The road and your garden is all that separates you from the beach.
Stay only a stone's throw away from the gentle waters of the Camel Estuary and within walking distance of all that Rock has to offer. From Wheel Cottage, you can choose from the secluded sands at Porthilly Cove and the long golden beach and dunes of Rock. Alternatively, you can walk along to Daymer Bay from Rock Beach at low tide, or travel on to Greenaway and Polzeath. The ferry to Padstow leaves from the top of Rock Beach nearby, making it easy to explore the other side of the estuary.
Based within walking distance of all the restaurants and pubs in Rock, you won't even need to reach for your car keys. Just up the road you can sample local ales with dinner at Nathan Outlaw's pub The Mariners. Here you can sit and relax on the balcony that overlooks the estuary. Just down the hill are The Upper Deck and Four Boys Café, all serving delicious food with a view.
Wheel Cottage is the ideal base for water sports enthusiasts. The Rock Sailing and Water Ski Club (just over the road) offers lessons, and you can catch a sea safari from the pontoon. This will take you along the estuary and out to sea, wildlife spotting along the way. Polzeath Beach, with its fantastic surf conditions and surf schools, is just a ten-minute drive away. You are also within easy walking distance of the St Enodoc Golf Club.
