As the name suggests, Baby Bay is so small and cute you could just put it in your pocket!
For a change of tempo from the hustle, bustle and surfer vibes of the main beach at Polzeath, Baby Bay is a beacon of tranquillity and is undiscovered by many.
Here are our top five reasons to visit Baby Bay, and if you’d like to stay nearby, check out our cottages in Polzeath.

1. The location

Officially known as Pentireglaze Haven, but fondly nicknamed 'Baby Bay' by locals, this small inlet is separated from Polzeath at high tide and can be accessed via an amble down the pretty coast path from New Polzeath. This is the ideal place to enjoy time away from the crowds, whether it's a relaxed beach day together or a romantic evening stroll.
2. The beach

Sheltered by headlands on either side, Baby Bay offers a calm refuge for beach bonfires and barbecues. Spend quality time with friends and family, sharing tales of the day gone by as the flames flicker and the marshmallows toast away. Like Polzeath Beach, dogs are welcome out of season from 1 October to Easter Sunday.

3. The water

The waters of Baby Bay are calmer than neighbouring Polzeath, making it the ideal spot for a morning swim or snorkel with just the gulls for company, or indulging in the British heritage of bellyboarding. It is also a fantastic location to launch paddleboards or kayaks if you don't mind carrying them down the coast path!

4. The sunsets

Enjoy the famous Polzeath sunset from the headland overlooking Baby Bay. Take a blanket and a thermos with you and settle in for the spectacular sight of the sky turning orange and pink as it melts into the ocean. You are in for a real treat if the local artist has paid a visit and created some beautiful beach art for you to enjoy from above.
5. The coast path

The coast path that runs along the back of the beach climbs up to the dizzying heights of Pentire Point. The climb is rewarded with a spectacular view back towards Polzeath and the Camel Estuary. Keep your eye out for seals and dolphins in the water below. Continue walking and you will stumble upon The Rumps, a fantastic rock formation that is well worth seeing. You’ll soon discover why this is one of the top things to do in Polzeath.
