This unexpected haven occupies a tranquil position in central Rock, where soft lawns cocooned by flower beds meet chic living spaces complete with all the modern day luxuries.

Description

Those through the gates at The Rookery will be transported into a peaceful world where dappled sunlight dances through the leaves of the Copper beech and yellow blooms spill from the laburnum tree alongside. Here, you can literally drive right into the garden along the bricked tracks in the lawn that lead you up to your Cornish home-from-home.

Inside, generous social spaces provide room for all the family to spread out and relax. A soft, powder blue kitchen provides a stylish setting for the preparation of holiday feasts. A sleek breakfast bar sits under copper statement lighting, where the day's agenda can be planned over a fresh pot of coffee (complete with pastries from Barney's bakery just across the road).

A long wooden dining table sits alongside glass sliding doors that open out to a sunken patio. Framed with railway sleepers, this sheltered spot is perfect for barbecues or al fresco breakfasts. A soft lawn sits above you and here rosemary and bursts of bright pink flowers cascade from the borders. Share tales of the day gone by as you soak up the Cornish sunshine or recline in the summer house with a good novel in hand.

On rainy days, take refuge in the sinkable sofas and warm your toes beside the crackling flames of the log burner. A snug provides a second retreat for movie marathons and holiday board game tournaments. When eyelids grow heavy, choose from four blissful bedrooms, where white wooden shutters and peaceful surroundings, ensure an interrupted night's sleep.

The Rookery can be let in conjunction with Morvoren next door. Together they sleep up to 18 guests.
