Padilly Cottage is situated down a short private lane, just off the hustle and bustle of the lower quarter of Rock.
Padilly provides the ideal base from which to explore Rock by foot. Simply walk up or down the Rock Road to find quality restaurants and shops, as well as the beach, golf and a range of water sports.
From Padilly you can easily access the long, golden sands of Rock Beach. With a large stretch of sand, extensive dunes and calm bathing waters, Rock is the perfect beach to spend the day with friends and family. From here, you can walk along the beach at low tide – or the coastal path at high tide – to Daymer Bay. If you choose to continue, you can walk all the way along, past the secluded Greenaway Beach, to the popular surfing beach of Polzeath.
Porthilly Cove is just 300 yards away from Padilly. Tucked away from the crowds, this is a lovely quiet spot for a beach day out. This unique estuary-side beach sits within an idyllic setting. The picture-perfect and historic church of St Michael's sits above the beach, while rolling green fields jut out into the water. Porthilly is also home to the farming grounds of the famous Porthilly mussels and oysters, and you can watch the day's harvest being brought in from the water. On a low tide, it's possible to walk from Porthilly along to Rock Beach.
