Top five romantic activities for Valentine’s Day

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, why not whisk your loved-one away for a romantic break beside the sea? We share our top five activities to inspire you this February 14th.

With the dreamy Cornish coastline as your backdrop, there is sure to be romance in the air. Valentine's Day doesn't have to be all rose petals and chocolate boxes. Cornwall will provide an authentic and memorable romantic experience for the both of you; one to remember for years to come.

Frolics on the beach

There's nothing like time on the beach to bring out the child in you both. Wrap up warm and spend some quality time together strolling hand-in-hand along the shore. Indulge in a little storm watching or challenge each other to a skimming stones competition.

Catch a sunset

Nothing says romance like time spent together watching the colours change in the sky as the sun melts into the ocean. This time of year, a nice hot thermos of tea or hot chocolate wouldn't go amiss and will keep you warm as darkness falls. Polzeath is famous for its breathtaking sunsets. Find a spot above the beach on the headland and take in the panoramic view across the sea.

Stay in and enjoy the view

Many of our coastal properties have views you will struggle to tear yourself away from. So why leave? Enjoy the evening in, stock up on everything you need and snuggle up and watch the tide rise or fall with a local tipple in hand.

A cosy lunch for two

There are plenty of picture perfect country pubs with cosy corners from which to enjoy a romantic meal. A few of our favourites include The Mariners in Rock, the pub at the Port Gaverne Restaurant & Hotel (pictured), the St Tudy Inn or the St Kew Inn.

Take the ferry to Padstow

Let the ferry be your chariot across from Rock to Padstow. Take in the beautiful views as you head across the Camel Estuary. Once in Padstow, explore the narrow streets and stroll along the harbour. Treat yourself to lunch at the famous Rick Stein's The Seafood Restaurant.

Choose from cosy country cottages to coastal love nests; browse our range of properties to find your perfect romantic bolthole this Valentine's Day.
