Blending elegant dashes of character with lashings of modern luxury, this self-catering sanctuary is nestled just above the sands of Daymer Bay where generous landscaped gardens await.

Description

At the grand old age of one hundred years, those through the door of St Enodoc View will discover character around every corner. As one of the first properties to be built in the area, you can experience a little piece of local history with a stay at this exceptional home. Newly renovated, St Enodoc View now also flaunts stylish interiors with all the modern comforts. Nestled within generous grounds, a croquet lawn and flower beds spilling with coastal fauna will delight all those residing here.

Inside, a cream Aga takes centre stage in the farmhouse kitchen. Here, you can make yourself at home and whip up delicious holiday breakfasts and family feasts. A sleek Ercol dining table sits alongside. At the head of the table, you can stretch out on the sunny window seat with a fresh coffee in hand, taking in views across the patio. Warm wooden floors flow through into the living room. Here, logs crackle on the wood burner which can be found nestled within an intricate stone chimney breast. Browse the library of novels seated on 14th century wooden shelves and admire the carvings on the 15th century cabinet.

Steps lead down to a balmy sunroom adorned with a herringbone wooden floor. A rustic palm chandelier drops down from above and antique treasures line the walls. Here you can soak up the ambience, curl up with a good book and enjoy views across the garden. Double doors open to the sunny slate patio bordered by swaying agapanthus and glossy olive trees. Recline in the swinging egg chair with just the distant sound of waves and bird singing in the trees above. A soft green lawn borders the patio. Here, you can enjoy a game of croquet or simply soak up the Cornish sunshine.

When eyelids grow heavy after a day of coastal adventures, choose from five blissful bedrooms. The front facing bedrooms open out to a decorative wooden balcony that spans the width of the property. Here you can take a seat and take in the views across to Brea Hill and the calm estuary waters. Two bedrooms boast en-suite shower rooms, and a family bathroom sits conveniently opposite the other two bedrooms. Little ones will love the cosy bunkroom (with a double bed underneath, adults can enjoy a good night's sleep here too).

In bedroom two, light pours through a stunning stained-glass window dating all the way back to 1599. Here you can drift into sweet dreams of knights in Swiss castles as depicted in the scene. A grand four poster king-sized bed takes centre stage with intricate wooden carvings. Discover the master bedroom up a secret staircase. Here a king-sized bed sits under white cladded eaves. Open the doors to the balcony and take in the view across towering treetops to the Camel Estuary and beyond. A spa-like en-suite provides the setting for long bubble baths. As night falls, stars light up the night's sky above and you can enjoy an uninterrupted night's sleep to the distant sound of lapping waves against the shore.
