Located down a sandy no through road in the heart of Polzeath, Galena offers the ultimate base just a minute from the beach.

Whether its long family beach days or invigorating surf and bodyboarding sessions amongst the waves, Galena's position allows you to make the most of your precious time on the coast. Pick up surf essentials from the trendy surf shop next door and join one of the fantastic local surf schools, based right on the beach. In summer, enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of village life and in winter enjoy the tranquillity that comes with an out of season break.

With Polzeath's vibrant cafés and restaurants all within walking distance from Galena you won't have to reach for the car keys. For delicious breakfasts to set you up for the day head to The Waterfront, TJ's Surf Café or the Tubestation, just seconds away. For lunch with a view stroll up to The Cracking Crab that sits above the beach where children and dogs can play in the large, colourful garden.

Foodies will love Surfside on the beach whose creative dishes include the famous surf and turf. For a local tipple, head to The Waterfront where you can enjoy an al fresco drink on the balcony, perfect for watching the sunset or up to The Oyster Catcher pub, popular with locals and visitors alike.

Galena is the perfect base for coastal exploration. With the South West Coast Path on your doorstep, you will be spoilt for choice for scenic coastal rambles. In one direction you can walk up to the dizzying heights of Pentire Headland and be rewarded with breathtaking views and if you are lucky, spot seals and dolphins along the way. Stroll onto The Rumps, an impressive rock formation and along to the hidden beach of Lundy Bay.

In the other direction you can discover the lesser-known beach of Greenaway, the golden sands of Daymer Bay and the popular estuary village of Rock. Here you can hop on the ferry which will take you across the Camel Estuary to the harbour town of Padstow.

If you take a right out of Galena, you can also enjoy a fantastic walk through the valley and along the public footpath that comes out on the beautiful fairways of The Point's golf course. Here you can also enjoy a relaxing swim, gym session or lunch with a view in the restaurant.
