Lowena is a colourful coastal oasis, nestled on the slopes of Polzeath just moments from the ocean. Here families and couples can enjoy a unique beach escape in this laid-back yet indulgent retreat.

Set back from the road that takes you down to the golden sands of Polzeath Beach in just minutes, Lowena is the ultimate base for a holiday filled with sand, surf and sunsets.

Start your day with a relaxing stroll down to the beach where you can enjoy an exhilarating surf session. With an array of fantastic surf schools based on the beach, you can hire everything you need and be standing up in no time at all. Refuel with a hearty brunch in one of the vibrant surf cafés overlooking the beach.

It's easy to join the South West Coast Path from Lowena and you will be spoilt for choice with breathtaking coastal walks. In one direction, stroll on the path that hugs the cliff along to Greenaway Beach, Daymer Bay and Rock. In the other direction, enjoy a ramble up to Pentire Point where you will be rewarded with panoramic views. For a longer adventure, head on to discover The Rumps rock formation and the hidden beaches of Lundy Bay and Epphaven.

For a day out, hop in the car and head to the beautiful estuary-side village of Rock, taking under ten-minutes. Here you can partake in a whole host of watersports in the calm waters of the Camel Estuary. Browse the shops, enjoy a spot of lunch in Paul Ainsworth's pub The Mariners and explore the rolling sand dunes. From Rock you can catch the ferry across the water to the pretty harbour town of Padstow.

The famous fishing village of Port Isaac is also within easy reach (a fifteen-minute drive). Here you can explore the narrow, cobbled streets and spot all the locations made famous by Doc Martin and the Fisherman's Friends film. Sample the best in fresh, locally caught seafood at Restaurant Nathan Outlaw or The Fish Kitchen.

All Polzeath's restaurants and bars are within walking distance of Lowena. The popular Oyster Catcher pub is just a two-minutes' walk away and here you can enjoy classic pub food and soak up the vibrant atmosphere. Head along the coast path to The Cracking Crab and enjoy a cold local tipple in the large garden. Head to Surfside on the beach for the best in local surf and turf with a cocktail at the Rum Bar to wash it down.
