Where to see the Christmas lights in Cornwall

The twinkling of Christmas lights reflecting off the water is sure to get you in the festive spirit. We pick our top 5 places in Cornwall to see the Christmas lights this festive season.


Padstow Harbour

Padstow comes alive in December for the annual Christmas Festival. The harbour twinkles with lights and the sky lights up during the spectacular fireworks display. Children parade the harbour with their homemade lanterns and the air is filled with delicious smells from the local artisan food providers.

Make your day out extra special by wrapping up warm and hopping on the ferry from Rock across to Padstow. The Christmas festival takes place this year from 05 to 08 December 2019. Find out more here.

Take a trip to the capital for the spectacular Truro City of Lights Festival. Soak up the festive atmosphere where an entertaining fusion of art, music and dance come together with the common theme of light. The festival is a great event for families and is taking place on Wednesday 20 November 2019 at 7pm.


Mousehole Harbour

One of the most famous places to see the Christmas lights is the picture perfect Mousehole Harbour. Home to the Mousehole cat from the children's story book, Mousehole provides a picturesque setting to enjoy the Christmas lights as they reflect on the water.

This year's switch-on will be held on Saturday 14 December 2019 at 6.30pm and will be the 56th year that Cornwall has been treated to this spectacle. Find out more here.


Angarrack

The small village of Angarrack just outside of Hayle in West Cornwall is the ultimate hidden gem. Discover the 12 Days of Christmas portrayed through Christmas lights by the villagers spanning roof tops, houses and rivers. The switch on takes place on Sunday 01 December 2019. Looe

The pretty fishing village of Looe in South East Cornwall is a beautiful place to visit over the festive period. Stroll along the harbour and take in the Christmas lights and enjoy the lantern parade, Santa's grotto and candlelit carols. The big switch on takes place on Saturday 07 December 2019.
