For lunch with a view stroll up to The Cracking Crab that sits above the beach and children and dogs can play in the large, colourful garden.

Foodies will love Surfside on the beach whose creative dishes include the famous surf and turf. For a local tipple, head to The Waterfront where you can enjoy an al fresco drink on the balcony, perfect for watching the sunset or up to The Oyster Catcher pub, popular with locals and visitors alike.

Driftwood is the perfect base for coastal exploration. With the South West Coast Path on your doorstep, you will be spoilt for choice for scenic coastal rambles. In one direction you can walk up to the dizzying heights of Pentire Headland and be rewarded with breathtaking views and if you are lucky, spot seals and dolphins along the way. Stroll onto The Rumps, an impressive rock formation and along to the hidden beach of Lundy Bay.

In the other direction you can discover the lesser-known beach of Greenaway, the golden sands of Daymer Bay and the popular estuary village of Rock. Here you can hop on the ferry which will take you across the Camel Estuary to the harbour town of Padstow.
